After a thorough renovation of the previous property, Hotel Luc has done a fantastic job of inviting travelers for a bit of something unexpected. Hailing themselves as a luxury boutique property, you really get that sense and feel of the intimate setting you expect from a boutique hotel.
As a part of the Autograph collection under the Marriott banner, Hotel Luc has established themselves as a premier location in a prime area of Berlin. Situated directly across from the Gendarmenmarkt (public square) which houses the Kontzerthaus Berlin, the area is littered with amazing restaurants, shops, and cultural activities.

Located near the center of Berlin and dressed in Prussian blue, the hotel is a gateway to former Prussian grandeur blended seamlessly with modern millennial style. The design of the hotel is an ode to Prussian King Frederick II the Great, who was the beloved ruler from 1740-1786. Every detail of the decor has been carefully considered to reflect a unique blend of opulence and comfort.
Throughout the hotel in the rooms, hallways, and restaurant, you will observe beautiful artwork displaying German models wearing clothing from Frederick’s time. Hair done like the wigs of old, tattoos proudly displayed, and sense of individuality on full display, these Prussian-inspired artworks set the tone as you explore.
As mentioned, Prussian blue dominates the interior. This is a gorgeous departure from the drab and muted “earth tones” you would typically see in most hotels. The designers didn’t skimp on the color, as you feel like you are walking on a canvas, painting your own masterpiece.
The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with plenty of amenities
The room we had was extremely spacious. A plush and inviting king-sized bed welcomed us. After long days of exploring all Berlin had to offer, this was a well earned treat and allowed us to sleep so comfortably. A cozy bench sat at the foot of the bed to allow for ease of dressing. A large closet well stocked with hangers, a hidden cabinet with a small refrigerator and a Nespresso machine was just inside the entrance.
The bathroom was adorned in all white tile with matte black hardware. This was a very nice touch to contrast with all the blue hues throughout. The shower was only large enough for one, but had a rainfall showerhead with ample pressure. Whether for a business trip or leisurely vacation, these stylishly designed rooms provide an inviting atmosphere.
The staff is attentive and helpful, making sure your stay is perfect
From the moment you check in, the attentive staff will make sure your stay is perfect. We were immediately greeted with glasses of champagne and asked to enjoy the couch while they checked us in. Once they had our documents ready, they brought them over and sat on the couch with us to go over everything. This to me, was excellent customer service.
We were then taken to our room by the front end manager. She told us all about the history of the hotel, King Frederick, and some sites to see. Upon entering the room, she showed us every single detail, explaining how things worked and made sure we were settled. Absolutely fantastic!
Throughout our stay, we were greeted by each staff member, asked if we needed anything, saw a smile on everyone’s face, and had a wonderful time at the lounge with the bartenders. Lovely staff and top notch service.
The food at Hotel Luc is outstanding, with a wide variety of options
Hotel Luc provides guests with an elevated dining experience in their restaurant and cocktail bar, Heritage. For daily breakfast offerings, the hotel serves its guests at any time between 6am and 3pm! This gives everyone a very flexible option when trying to plan their day. You can choose from a set menu with offerings such as pastries, fruit, acai bowls, their take on eggs benedict, or pancakes, or choose a la carte and go with the egg white and truffle omelet. No matter what you choose, the food is fantastic.
For dinner, enjoy one of their signature cocktails like the World of Blue (grapefruit gin/elderberry/grapefruit zest/lemon), Passion Fruit Swizzle (rum/lime/ passion fruit) or Raspberry Ginger Collins (Himbeer Gin/ginger beer/lime/mint). The drinks were top shelf and so carefully crafted by the outstanding bartenders. Truly masters of their craft.
The meal was superb! I had the Wagyu with brown butter, baconnaise, green asparagus, béarnaise sauce, and French fries. My wife had cod with miso and kale Salad with mango. Both dishes were spectacular and absolutely delicious! Every dish is prepared to perfection and presented beautifully, making your meal look as good as it tastes. Whether you’re in the mood for comfort food or exploratory eats, the team at Hotel Luc will ensure you have a truly outstanding culinary experience.
